The Store Settings screen allows you save settings related to your store and your Product Rentals Pro system. A description of each setting available on this screen is below.
Timezone
The primary timezone your store operates in. If you operate in multiple timezones, select one that is most suitable. It is used for displaying things like rental creation times, as well as determining what time any automated notifications should be sent to rental customers.
Date Format
The date format used for rental dates. This is used not only within the Product Rentals Pro admin area, but also on the front end of your store, in the shopping cart, checkout and in customer email notifications.
Product name display format
Specify how you'd like the names of products to be displayed within the admin of Product Rentals Pro. One of the options is simply the Product Title, whereas the other two combine the Vendor and Product Title (one option with a dash between them and one without).
You would typically choose one of the formats with Vendor and Product if you use the Vendor field to store the brand name of each product, and you also don't include this at the start of your Product Titles.
Administrator email address
An email address where we'll send any system notifications, such as any rental overlaps detected, any notifications regarding your plan and information about new features launched into the app.
It defaults to the Customer Service Email Address of your store at the time Product Rentals Pro was installed.
Business Days
Allows you to select the days considered "business days" in your area. It's important to note that this can be different to the days your store is open.
The only purpose for this setting is to help calculate rental buffers when the buffer type is set to "business days". For an explanation of rental buffers, see Rental Buffers
For that reason, it would typically be set to the days that postage providers operate (or can accept dispatch) in your location.
This setting is not used for blocking specific days of the week from selection in the rental widget/calendar. Blocking specific days of the week is based on the Delivery Method selected by the customer, and therefore controlled in the Rental Settings screen.
Public / Bank Holidays
Enter the dates which are normally a business day, but are actually a holiday in your location, particularly if they affect your ability to dispatch a rental order, and/or your ability to receive a return of a rental order (e.g. because postage providers won't deliver).
These dates will be treated as a "business day" when calculating any rental buffers where the buffer type is selected as "business days". It is not used for anything else in Product Rentals Pro.
This setting is not used for blocking dates from selection in the rental widget/calendar. Blocking specific dates can be done by creating a Blackout.
Time to keep rental items in customer's cart
The current release of Product Rentals Pro doesn't reserve items for customers that have added a product for rent into their Shopping Cart. What this means is that two different customers may be able to rent a product for the same dates at about the same time.
To counter this, one of the things we can do is automate removal of rentals in a customer's cart after a certain amount of time. After this time, the customer would need to go back to the product page and check availability again. If the item has since been rented for that customer's dates, it won't allow them to select those dates for the rental.
This setting allows you to set the number of minutes a rental item will stay in a customer's cart before it is automatically removed.
If you don't want items to be removed by Product Rentals Pro, set this value to 0. It will then fall back to default Shopify behaviour (or the behaviour of any other apps you have installed which affect the cart).
