There might be times where you want to visualise rentals for a specific Product or Variant in a calendar view. This can help you ascertain where the item is expected to be on any given date, and also whether it is feasible to fit a new rental in, between others.
For this use case, Product Rentals Pro has a calendar view of rentals for a product.
To get to the Rental Calendar for a Product, first find the Product from the Products List screen. From the relevant Product, click View Calendar.
Once you're viewing the Rental Calendar for a product, you can:
Hover on a rental to make a popover appear with more details about the rental
Click on a rental to go to the Rental Detail screen
Click the "New Rental" button at the top right to start creating a new manual rental with the Product already added
Filter Variants so that only rentals for the selected Variants appear on the calendar.
How the bars for each rental are displayed on the calendar is based on the rental start and end dates, not including start and end buffers. A future release of Product Rentals Pro will add a toggle to the calendar allowing you to switch between displaying bars using rental start/end dates or using buffer start/end dates.
Remember, that if you have multiple rental durations set up for a Product, and you want to filter by a Variant, you probably want to select the Variants for each duration for the best view of an item. For example, select both "Small / 4 days" and "Small / 8 days" for the best representation of rentals for your Small item.
What do the colours of the bars for each rental mean?
The different colours used for the bars of each rental in the calendar don't really mean anything. They are random. This is done to help distinguish each separate rental in the calendar. It's not as easy to interpret when they're all displayed in the same colour.
