Offer customers both rental and purchase options without creating separate Products in Shopify

There may be a need for you to set up some (or all) of your Products to be able to be rented by the customer, or purchased outright. Product Rentals Pro allows you to do this seamlessly, without needing to create two separate Products within Shopify to support this.
As an example, an item you've rented for a while might be getting a bit tired and you're willing to let it go for the right price. You want to move it on to make room for more rental stock.
At the same time, you don't want to deny anyone wanting to rent it from doing that, as it's still a revenue source for you.
You can configure the Product to offer both options to the customer.
The best way to do this is to have an Option on the Product which either allows the customer to select their rental duration, or to purchase the item.
The Option would have values of "3 days", "7 days" and "Buy Now (yours to keep)".
The Option could still be named "Rental Duration", and it would still make sense to the majority of customers.
However, you might want to rename it to something like "Rent or Buy", and set up values like so:
To let Product Rentals Pro know that the "Buy Now" value is for a purchase, not a rental, you would set up an Exclusion.
This can be done from the Options & Variants Settings screen within Product Rentals Pro.
Go to the Exclusions section on the screen, and create a new Exclusion. Select the relevant Option from the dropdown and type in the specific Option Value that you used. It will look something like the below:
If you aren't seeing the relevant Option in the dropdown list, it will probably be because you haven't imported the Product into Product Rentals Pro yet. The list only represents Options that have been found on imported Products.
Once your Exclusion is entered, click Save.
Now if you go to the Product on your store website and select a Variant which matches the exclusion rule - e.g. Size: Medium and Rent or Buy: Buy Now - the rental calendar will hide and the button beneath will update from your configured rental text, to "Add To Cart".
If an Order has been placed on your store for a Variant that matches an exclusion rule, then it will go through as a regular Shopify Order, with no link to Product Rentals Pro and none of the line item properties you would normally see on a rental (such as start & end dates).
You won't see a record in any of the Product Rentals Pro rentals screens.
